The PCV valve is usually composed of valve body, valve, spring and other components, which together form a sophisticated control system. This position enables the PCV valve to effectively guide the gas in the crankcase into the intake manifold.
When the engine is running, due to the gap between the piston ring and the cylinder wall and the wear of the piston ring, a part of the fresh air, incompletely burned fuel vapor and oil vapor will penetrate into the crankcase. If these gases accumulate too much, the pressure in the crankcase will increase, affecting the sealing of the engine and the cleanliness of the engine oil.
At this time, the PCV valve begins to play a role. It automatically adjusts the opening of the valve according to the engine operating conditions and the pressure changes in the crankcase. When the pressure in the crankcase increases, the PCV valve opens, allowing these harmful gases to enter the intake manifold through the hose. In the intake manifold, these gases are mixed with fresh air and are completely burned in the subsequent combustion process.
Through the treatment of the PCV valve, the harmful gases in the engine crankcase are effectively controlled and utilized. This not only reduces the direct emission of harmful gases and reduces the pollution to the environment, but also maintains the cleanliness of the engine oil and the sealing of the engine. In addition, the PCV valve also helps to maintain the pressure balance inside the engine and prevents failures such as oil seal leakage caused by excessive pressure.
