The crankcase is a key component in a car engine. It houses the core moving parts such as the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, etc., and plays a role in supporting, lubricating and sealing. Long-term use and wear can cause various problems in the crankcase and its internal components, which requires a crankcase repair kit to repair.
There are many gaskets inside the crankcase, which are responsible for ensuring that the engine oil does not leak to the outside. Over time, these gaskets may age or become damaged due to heat, oil corrosion or mechanical stress. The repair kit contains new gaskets to replace the aged gaskets and restore the sealing performance of the crankcase.
Components such as the crankcase rear oil seal are responsible for preventing the engine oil from leaking from the crankshaft journal. These oil seals may fail due to wear after long-term use. The repair kit may include a new oil seal to replace the worn original one to ensure that the engine oil does not leak to the outside and prevent external contaminants from entering the crankcase.
The bearings in the crankcase, such as the main bearings and connecting rod bearings, are subject to tremendous pressure and friction during engine operation. Over time, these bearings can wear out, which can affect engine performance and reliability. Repair kits contain new bearings to replace worn bearings and restore normal engine operation and performance.
The screw holes on the crankcase may be stripped due to frequent disassembly, causing the fixing screws to not be tightly fixed. The repair kit may include the tools or replacement parts needed to repair the screw holes (such as bolts with larger screw holes) to solve the problem of stripped screw holes and ensure the secure fixation of the crankcase components.
In rare cases, the crankcase body may be damaged by sand holes, cracks, etc. due to impact, heat or corrosion. Although the crankcase repair kit may not directly contain adhesives or patches to repair these damages, the replacement parts in the kit can be used to replace the damaged parts to restore the integrity and function of the crankcase.
The crankcase ventilation system is responsible for venting gases from the crankcase to maintain internal pressure balance and prevent oil deterioration. If the ventilation system fails, it may cause abnormal pressure buildup in the crankcase, which may lead to oil leaks or other mechanical failures. Although the repair kit itself may not directly target the ventilation system failure, inspecting and repairing the ventilation system is a necessary step during the repair process. This ensures that the sealing and integrity of the crankcase are maintained, while improving the performance and reliability of the engine.
